FAQ's

1. How big should my urn be?  For both people and pets, the rule of thumb is 1 cubic inch per pound of body weight.  We make our urns oversized so you can also fit keepsakes and other remembrances. If you need a bigger urn than you see, contact us and we can quote a bigger size.

2. How long will it take to get my urn?  We handmake each urn to order and our goal is to ship within 2 weeks of receiving your order.  Transit time will depend on shipping method selected. Though not expected, any delays will be communicated quickly and clearly.

3. Does the price include shipping and customizations?  Yes, prices include shipping and all customizations outlined during the ordering process. Should you want any additional customization, please contact us and we can quote the extras.

4. Can I order a completely custom Urn?  Yes, please contact us through the form or at customerservice@lcurnsandart.com for a quote. It helps if you have the basic design and wood species in mind and can send links to any engravings you want.

5.  What is your return policy?  We want you to feel completely confident ordering from us. Therefore we offer a full, money-back guarantee even on customized urns.  Simply ship the urn back within 30 days and we will refund your money. No questions asked.

6. What products do you use to finish my urn or framed art?  As any woodworker will tell you, finishing wood is an art unto itself.  After years of experimenting with different finishes, we settled on Walrus Oil products. Their products are no-VOC, non-toxic, eco and Walrus friendly and they do cool stuff like plant trees. We use three coats of Walrus Oil Furniture Butter, a wax and oil combination. The oils deeply nourish the wood while accentuating the natural grains and colors. The waxes harden over time and protect your product. Your urn might feel a little "tacky" when you receive it as the wax is curing, but will harden over time.

7. How do I care for my urn or framed art?  Your finish should last for years under normal conditions. While curing, buff out any scuffs with a clean, dry lint-free cloth.  If you store your urn or art in very dry conditions, like over a fireplace, you may need to apply a touch up coat of the Walrus Oil Furniture Butter, available on their website or Amazon. It is simple to apply, just follow the instructions on the container.
